OUTDOOR VIDEO DRIVE-IN: I CAN’T HELP IT
STRUTS GALLERY & FAUCET MEDIA ARTS CENTRE
July 28th, 2010
9PM
7 Lorne Street
Sackville, NB

“It took me a long time to give in to the fact that I like funny things. Lately I’ve been learning to drop my bias that serious art is somehow more credible, and have come to understand that something that is funny or light can still be profound and can often deal with difficult subject matter in a way that is accessible. Being able to laugh at our failures and challenges can help us cope with life in a very productive way.
The works I’ve selected show a vulnerability in some way–either through evidence of the hand or through the characters and stories being told. These pieces reveal the awkwardness of daily drudgery through an irreverent touch, wit or lightness.”       -Kate O’Connor, Curator

Program duration is 68MIN43SEC. Includes work by: Jeremy Bailey, Lorna Bauer, Philippe Blanchard, Pierre Dumora & Tatiana Grigorenko, Ray Fenwick, Alison S. M. Kobayashi, Sarah Gregg Millman, Jon Sasaki, Soft Turns, Leslie Supnet and Sharon Switzer.

Ok.Quoi?! is an interdisciplinary festival of contemporary art, focusing on video, audio, new and independent music.
