in conjunction with The Model’s current exhibition A Series of Navigations which closes on April 15th, 2012.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Alison S.M. Kobayashi is an identity contortionist.<\/p>\n

Kobayashi will present and screen a selection of her videos, performances and installation works, showcasing a range of the artist\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s interactions with found objects and the humorous results when she imagines their origins.<\/p>\n

Ranging from the project,\u00c2\u00a0MOTEL, (a collaboration with Gintas Tirilis) where the pair entered abandoned Motels to salvage precious objects before the structure\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s demolition to her most recent performance, Defense Mechanism (a collaboration with Christopher Allen), where Kobayashi playfully reflects on the theme of fear by adopting a consumer security camera system into a live performance.<\/p>\n

Alison S. M. Kobayashi\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s collection of tenderly-curated narratives resembles a box of Allsorts Licorice \u00e2\u20ac\u201c colourful, nostalgic and difficult to predict.<\/p>\n
